We have negotiated substantial discounts (up to 30%) off list prices for ski and boot hire at the local shop just 30m from the chalet and Doorstep Skis (by prior booking) who deliver direct to the chalet. If you need to change anything, they are right on the doorstep, no long treks into town!
We have held 21st, 40th, 60th birthday celebrations, we have had a marriage proposal and a wedding! (See the Wedding Page).
If you have a special occasion that you want to celebrate, we will be happy to make it a memorable time for you. If you have a birthaday when you are with us, we will give you the value of a days lift pass to have a great lunch on the slopes. Chef might even bake a cake!
Why do we take this seriously – because we care that you eat well on your holiday, to re-energise and replenish spent calories at the right time during the week.
Our Chef is exceptional (we do not normally use tired exaggerated terms!) and we challenge anyone in the Portre de Soleil (even those who are offering “Luxury” and Gourmet”) to be producing better quality food.
Our meals are nutritiously designed. We do not go for the “Master Chef” minimalist style so there is plenty.
We prepare meals daily, using fresh ingredients of a very high quality and exceptional taste, that you would not have at home.
Veggie’s – not a problem! The French don’t understand you but we do AND we’ll cater well for all other food allergies and intolerances.
Most Chalet operators give all their staff a day off on the same day – Wednesday. This means that evey guest in the resort is trying to find something to eat on the same night! It’ can be a “conveyor belt” operation in an overcrowded restaurant. It’s often not the nicest experience!
We would encourage you to go and sample the very best of the regions speciality cuisine as part of your holiday experience, so all you have to do at the start of the week, is chose which night you go out and chef will adapt accordingly (we advise not a Wednesday!)
If you chose to stay in, you can either get takeout (pizza, curry etc.) or by prior agreement with the Chalet Manager and for a small additional cost, we can prepare you simple are on the chef’s day off and you can just chill in the chalet.
Holiday for Free? As party organiser you can receive discounts of up to 20% on the accommodation part of the group booking (depending on the week) for whole chalet (24 guests) or half chalet (12 guests) occupation. We will generally apply these discounts as a matter of course, but please call us on +44 (0)1444 220048 and we will give you the options when we discuss your holiday with you.

On selected weeks, we can also offer long weekends.
